"Steven Silver’s “The Bang Bang Club,” starring Ryan Philippe, Malin Akerman and Taylor Kitsch, is getting a U.S. theatrical release through Tribeca Films in the second quarter of 2011. The film will also be available via alternate platforms such VOD as part of Tribeca’s distribution strategy."

Late last year João Silva, the co-author and subject of The Bang Bang Club, stepped on a mine while accompanying American soldiers patrolling an area near the town of Arghandab in southern Afghanistan. Despite immediate help from medics, both his legs were lost below the knees. A fund has been set up to support his recovery. Please consider buying a print or making a donation.
